The royal Museum of Mariemont is one of the rare places in Northern Europe where you can admire the paintings created for a villa of Pompei, the villa Boscoreale. A new Cabinet for the Fresco of Boscoreale has been created by the architecture agency SNCDA. The frescoes are hung in their original positions in the villa, and their heights and relationships are recreated in a new context. These positions, corresponding to the old rooms of the building, are intertwined in an interplay of walls and ceilings, proposing in addition to the original relationships new dialogues between architecture, frescoes and visitors.
